If you notice that your coolant light remains on even after you fill up the tank, there are several reasons why this could be happening. Before replacing, I would try to remoce the coolant bottle and give it a good cleaning with hot water. It is located inside the bottle and is not serviceable, so you need another Coolant Bootle, and it cost about 60. If it is O.K, then you must have a bad coolant level sensor. the only thing we could think about is that previously i had my heater core replace and the new one was all in aluminium. Check the collant level in the coolant bottle. 2 days without taking it the morning all the reserve tank was leaked in the driveway. i took the car for a ride park it in my driveway. If the wire to the sender unit is broken or not making good contact then the low light will also come on. Check the coolant level in the radiator and not the reservoir. the coolant light needs water to keep the light off. and sometimes too much is leaked getting the light to come on. Anyway, the light went off for a few days but is now back on. I used just standard coolant, not the type the manual said to use because I hadnt read it yet. Rinse away any excess coolant from the engine and the engine compartment. To turn off this light, supply 12v to the green wire going to the sensor. Run the engine at 2,000-2,500 RPM for 3 minutes. (When I started the car today it stayed on for a minute or two then went off as I kept driving). Service engine light is on for evap small leak (think that’s unrelated to the coolant light?) anyways, recently the coolant light has come on for less than 60 seconds and then went off.
